What is included in the minimum spend?

The Minimum spend is inclusive of all food and beverages – this includes the savoury and dessert canape packages, cakeage, beverage packages, bar tabs and cash bars.

The minimum spend does not include the room hire fee.

Minimum Spends can be found on the front page of our functions pack.

What are the room capacities?

Riverview – Cocktail 70 minimum 150 maximum

Caledonia – Cocktail 45 minimum 90 maximum

Next Door – Cocktail 45 minimum 80 maximum

                       Sit down 40 minimum 48 maximum

What is included in the room hire payment?

The room hire is the deposit payment for your function and is inclusive of the following:

  • Audio Visual (Speakers, Microphones, Plasma TV or Projector)
  • Linen
  • Furniture
  • Cleaning fee
  • Set up
  • Labour
  • Water
  • Electricity

What is the latest time I can hold my function until?

The latest time we can trade your function to is 12am

I have underage family and friends, are they allowed to attend my function?

Yes, underage family and friends are allowed to attend for the duration of your function however they must be accompanied by their parent or guardian at all times.

As we are a licensed premise, all 18+ aged guests are required to have their personal ID on them. Unfortunately without a valid ID, guests will be refused entry.

SUPPLIERS & SET UP

Can I provide my own Spotify playlist?

Yes, you’re welcome to create your own Spotify playlist to be played for your function.

Please ensure your playlist is set to public and we can easily play it through our surround sound speakers.

Can I use my own suppliers?

We have a list of preferred suppliers we can recommend to you to help with the preparation of your function however if you have your own suppliers, you are more than welcome to use them.

What time do I have access to the function room to set up?

Suppliers are welcome to set up from 12PM, earlier timing must be confirmed by our functions team (may incur a further cost).

Please discuss and confirm further with our functions team.

Can I pick up my supplies the day after my function?

This depends on if we have a function in the space the next day and if we have room to store your belongings.

This will need to be confirmed closer to your function date with our functions team.

FOOD & BEVERAGE

Do you cater for dietary requirements?

Yes, our function menu caters to a variety of different dietaries and allergies including vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, dairy free and nut free.

Our chefs are very flexible and cater to most dietary requirements.

Please keep in mind our chefs try their best with all dietaries but cannot 100% guarantee cross contamination with some dietaries such as coeliac, as some components of our items are prepared via a third-party supplier.

Can I bring my own cake or cupcakes?

Absolutely, cakes or cupcakes are welcome from an outside supplier.

If you wish for our chefs to cut your cake, we have a cakeage fee from $100.

Will the bar be open for the entirety of my function?

The bar will open from the commencement of your function up until half an hour before your function concludes.

  • My partner and I recently had our engagement party in the Riverview Room and it could not have been better! From making our first enquiry, to the moment the party ended, communication with The Grand Hotel was flawless. We got to decorate the room as desired, and staff were incredibly attentive with our guests! The food was delicious, and guests loved to hangout on the beautiful balcony. I could not recommend hosting event with the Grand Hotel enough!

  • My husband and I hosted our wedding reception in the Riverview room, and it was amazing. The space had so much character and gave our guests the option of sitting on the balcony, or inside. The staff were fantastic leading up to the reception and on the day; their communication was clear and they helped answer any queries I had. They were also very flexible with dietary requirements, which is always a plus! Our guests had a lovely night - we're still getting comments on how perfect the space was. I highly recommend Functions at the Grand 🙂

  • I recently held my son Josh's 21st in the Federation room. The space had been recently renovated and we loved the new decor. It was the perfect size for our 80 guests and lovely balcony was an added bonus. Amazing food and plenty of it , all our guest commented on how good the food was. The staff were lovely and very helpful specially Gemma and Nicole who were in charge of making sure everything ran smoothly. Highly recommend and I would definitely hold another function here in the future. Thank-you.

  • Can't recommend having a function at The Grand highly enough! From the very first visit Nicole was warm and so helpful. The booking process was easy and all communication in the lead up to our engagement party was prompt and professional. Nicole was only too happy to help in anyway she could. On the night all our guests remarked on how wonderful the venue, it's staff and the food was, and we couldn't have agreed more.

  • We had my husbands 50th birthday party here at the Grand in their Federation Room upstairs. Everything was absolutely brilliant! We were so impressed. The food was delicious and plentiful, the staff were exceptional - professional, friendly and attentive. It all ran like a well oiled machine, and nothing was too much trouble. Thanks to Nicole, our event coordinator, and please pass on our thanks to all the staff who were on on the night. They were fantastic and lovely, as was the driver of the courtesy bus that dropped us home on the spur of the moment! I would highly recommend Functions at the Grand for your special occasion!

  • Seriously cannot recommend the Grand enough. We had our function in the Riverview room and it was incredible. So many people commented on how good the venue was and how amazing the food was. The outdoor alfresco is also amazing and still useable in weather conditions. The staff were so incredibly friendly and helpful and I can’t thank the team enough for making our night so special.
