Victoria’s proud recipient of ‘Emerging Leader of The Year’ and ‘Outstanding Achievement in Training ’!

We’re thrilled to share that we took home two prestigious awards on Monday 19th of May at The AHA (Vic) State Awards for Excellence 2025!

Our talented and much-loved Trainee Duty Manager, Dylan Tudor, was honoured with the individual award for ‘Emerging Leader of the Year’ — a truly well-deserved recognition.

We also received the ‘Outstanding Achievement in Training’ award — a proud moment that reflects an incredible team effort.

Judging of the awards consisted of written submissions, interviews and mystery shoppers; with judges visiting all nominated AHA (Vic) venues across the state.

In addition to these wins, we were named Victorian state finalists in seven other categories, including ‘Overall Hotel of the Year – Metropolitan’ for the fifth consecutive year. The awards we reached finalist status for include:

Consistently supporting The Good Friday Appeal!

Together we raised $3,336.15 for Good Friday Appeal supporting AHA (Vic) Pubs with Purpose in 2025.

Joining forces with like-minded pubs across Victoria, The Grand committed to ‘Pubs with Purpose’ – an AHA (Vic) initiative supporting The Good Friday Appeal. Pubs have always been at the Heart of the Community and especially The Good Friday Appeal Community. Across the years, many pubs have produced incredible results gathering their communities together and digging deep to raise funds for The Good Friday Appeal.

We consistently support The Good Friday Appeal every year to make a difference to the lives of sick kids and their families. We are a proud standing community focused pub, and love to support all organisations in and around town and to those in need when it matters most.

The funds were raised from our weekly Friday Night Meat Tray in March and April, coin donations and $2 donated from every Bruschetta April Parma of The Month sold.

A massive thank you to our community for their kind generosity and ongoing support.

The Grand’s courtesy bus has returned!

It’s back – bigger and better than before!

Our brand new Grand courtesy bus has arrived and is now available most Friday and Saturday evenings, subject to availability of staff on the night.

What you need to know:

Fits up to 10 passengers
Travels a maximum radius of 8km from The Grand Hotel
Maximum of 1 drop off location per group
Our courtesy bus is a privilege, not a right

We took the pub over 12 and half years ago, and with limited taxi opportunities in Warrandyte, and Uber just on the scene, it was difficult for our patrons to get home and often stranded out the front of the pub for hours waiting for either service. So we took the initiative to purchase a courtesy bus to fill the void and get our patrons home safely.

This service was received extremely well by our local customers. With offering an 8km radius drop home point, the bus became extremely popular.

After a tree fell on the bus and caused significant damage, we were no longer able to put the bus on the road and made the decision to purchase a new one. With Ubers now so popular in Warrandyte, we still committed to going ahead and purchasing a new bus to ensure the safety of our patrons.

The bus seats 10 passengers and will continue for a drop home service only with an 8km radius and is available on Friday and Saturday nights from 6pm and takes customers home on a demand basis, just let the staff know when your ready to go home and the next available trip in turn we will get you home. The new bus is equipped with the state of the art security features for a safe and enjoyable ride home and we look forward to having this beauty back on the roads and servicing our loyal customers.

The Grand is proud to offer this community service free of charge to our customers who have visited us for the night and enjoyed The Grand’s hospitality.

As we always say – the Courtesy bus is a privilege and not a right, and respect for our drivers and other passengers is required to ensure a safe experience for all staff and users.

Secure your table online, select the experience ‘Trivia Tuesday’ and ‘The Lower Deck Standard’ on a Tuesday night OR walk in on the night! Bookings are encouraged to avoid disappointment.

Each Quiz Meisters show is a jam-packed quiz full of cross-generational questions with onscreen videos, and interactive live games.

The quiz is made up of two rounds, and is about two hours long. No minimum or maximum group sizes, all are welcome!
